Welcome to historic Somesville, Mount Desert Island, Maine
Our cottages are located in Somesville, Maine, a historic village surrounded by Acadia National Park and centrally located at the top of Somes Sound, between Bar Harbor and Southwest Harbor.
The Somesville library and bridge are just a short walk from our cottages
We have a post office, library, church, museum, and convenience store, all within walking distance of our property. You can also walk to Acadia Repertory Theatre for live performances, to the library to sit by the ocean, or to Somes Pond for great swimming. We have two lovely acres of lawn and gardens set well back in from our road, peaceful and quiet surroundings often with an eagle or osprey above. It is heated, has one bedroom, bathroom with shower, fully equipped kitchen, and living room. Furnishings include a queen bed, air conditioning, all linens and towels, as well as Smart TV, wireless high-speed internet, and great books. Fresh flowers and original art in each room add to the charm of the cottage.
The lawn is open and sunny, with gardens and shade trees near the cottage and a deck with a table and two chairs for sunning and observing Somesville’s resident eagles and ospreys. There is also a bicycle and storage shed, as well as a Weber gas grill and accessories.
