Acadia National Park

Acadia National Park, established in 1919, stands as a testament to the rich natural and cultural heritage of the northeastern United States. Nestled along the rugged coastline of Maine, Acadia encompasses over 49,000 acres of pristine landscapes, showcasing a unique blend of granite peaks, dense forests, and picturesque shorelines.

Originally known as Sieur de Monts National Monument, the park's history dates back to the early 20th century when visionaries like George B. Dorr and Charles W. Eliot played pivotal roles in its creation. The park was later renamed Acadia in 1929, a nod to the region's early French colonial history.
